We are please to announce that on 5th April at 18:00-19:30, UKELA will be holding a Careers Advice Session with Directors at Lawyers for Nature, Brontie Ansell and Paul Powlesland. Anyone is welcome to attend the free, informal Zoom session, but spaces are limited to 25 so you are encouraged to create a UKELA account and book your spot via this page as soon as possible.
Once Brontie and Paul have spoken, there will be plenty of opportunity to ask any questions so please do come prepared. The sessions will be recorded and made available on the UKELA (UK Environmental Law Association) website so please don't worry if you are unable to join a particular event. We will also aim to host the video ourselves on the Lawyers for Nature website and share on our Discord.

This is a story about Lawyers for Nature’s work on what was variously known as the Dulwich Oaks or Save the Footbridge Oaks Campaign. I was contacted out of the blue by a member of the campaign who had heard about Lawyers for Nature and our work saving trees.

Lawyers for Nature stands in firm opposition to the Planning and Infrastructure Bill 2025 in its current form. While we acknowledge the government's stated aim to streamline development and enhance environmental outcomes, the Bill's current provisions risk undermining existing environmental protections, democratic processes, and the fundamental rights of nature itself.
In October 2021, the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) passed the much-awaited Resolution 48/13, which recognises the human right to a safe, clean, healthy and sustainable environment.
